I’m so excited to introduce Bear Path, Patchwork & Poodle’s FOURTH pattern!!
As with every pattern release, I work really hard to make each one as perfect as I can so that you can have the best pattern making experience! That includes making multiple versions myself to iron out any tweaks.
The first Bear Path I made was as a baby gift for my sister. Although I liked the first design, I kept playing with it and tweaking it until I really loved it! Bear Path is a play on the Bear Paw block, it is composed of 4 big blocks and sashing and comes together really quickly. It is a great beginner quilt pattern that walks you through every step with plenty of diagrams!
- 4 sizes included: wall hanging, baby, throw, and bed
- beginner friendly
- fast pattern that can easily be completed in a weekend!
- diagrams walking you through every step
I’ve made 4 versions of this pattern so far! That’s how fun and fast it really is!
My cover quilt is made from Paintbrush Studio Fabrics fabulous solids (Painter’s Palette solids). These have quickly become my go-to solids, because they are really soft, have wonderful drape, hand-quilt beautifully, and have amazing saturated colors!
- Color 1: Azure
- Color 2: Abyss
- Color 3: Turquoise
- Color 4: Wasabi
- Background: White
- Binding: Abyss
- Backing: Bloom by Tracey Wirth for Paintbrush Studio Fabrics
I hand-quilted the entire quilt with Aurifil 12 wt thread, and hand-bound it in big-stitch hand-binding.
These all deserve their own blog post, but I can’t help mentioning them here as well.
I made a throw size in Rollakan fabric by FIGO fabrics!
I made a throw size in Wildwood fabric by Cotton & Steel!
I made a baby size in Riley Blake Designs!
My patterns wouldn’t be the same without the incredible hard work of my pattern testers!
Angela‘s baby version has me thinking of summer!
Shannon’s baby version also got the hand-quilting treatment. How cute are those seagulls?!
Claire’s solids version has a great Americana feel!
Kate’s baby version is stunning, from her quilting to color choices! All that dreamy fabric!
You know a pattern is a keeper when your testers make more than one version! Jamie’s fun blue and purple wall hanging! Look at that quilting!
…and Jamie also made this super summery scrappy version!
Ashley’s Americana version makes me want to eat hot dogs and watch fireworks!
Abby’s use of gingham is stunning!
Laura knocked it out of the park! Look at that stunning quilting and fabric choices!!
Laurel also made TWO versions! She went super scrappy! Bear Path is great for raiding the scrap bin!
Laurel’s second, scrappy version!
Sherry made her baby version in two colors! She used a design from my favorite quilting book WALK to quilt it!
Joy made an amazing scrappy version! That background and use of selvages! 😍
