Description
The Patchwork Chore Coat was specifically designed for quilted fabric. It is the perfect pattern for turning your favorite quilt into a coat! The Patchwork Chore Coat has a relaxed, but not oversized fit, comes in one length with button closure. If you prefer an oversized coat, go up one size. Special considerations have been taken to finishing the seams, especially the bulky underarm seams. Pattern details out different seam finishing methods, including a binding option that allows the coat to be reversible.
To make your coat reversible, you can choose to make either view. The pattern will indicate how to bind the inner seams for a clean finish without adding extra bulk. Pay attention to which pattern piece the binding gets sewn to in order to nest seams.
View A features a classic chore coat collar. View B features a three-piece hood.
Pattern comes with instructions for the coat only, not for the quilt variations you see in the product images. Although listed for a beginner, some garment sewing knowledge is assumed. For details on each version you see, check out the blog.

I had so much fun making this coat out of an old quilt! I made mine a bit longer and haven’t put on the pockets yet, but nonetheless I absolutely love it! I wish I could post a picture on here but can’t figure out how to do it.
The pattern was so easy to follow, even for a complete beginner, like me!
Thank you for putting out such beautiful tutorials and patterns. You completely inspire me to quilt and create.
Now on to make the quilted sweater!
