Wildwood Bear Path Quilt | A Finished Project

Bear Path Quilt. Quick, versatile, and gorgeous in nearly every color. Have I mentioned how much I love this pattern? I haven’t shared this version in a blog post yet which is such a shame, because she is a beauty. And, she went to her forever home about a year ago! So, it is way overdue.

Everything Rifle Paper Co. produces is gorgeous, and these fabrics were no exception. I knew that big, floral print would be perfect for a Bear Path quilt, and I set to work right away!

Bear Path is really a super fast make, so in a matter of hours you can have a finished top, even this throw size which clocks in at 63″ square.

We took some photos of this quilt in our local park next to the blooming crabapple trees and it was simply magical.

For the backing I chose Fable in Green from the same Wildwood fabric collection by Cotton + Steel. I just couldn’t get over how beautiful those bunnies were! (There’s also squirrels, and snails, and all sorts of other critters hidden in the print).

When it came time to quilting, I decided to hand-quilt the whole thing in two Aurifil 12 wt threads. The majority of the quilt is quilted in blue, but to make the dark blue section pop more, I used a lemon yellow for quilting.

The hand-quilting details really add more texture to this already beautifully packed quilt.

I brought *cough* 5 quilts on vacation with us this summer and managed to get a picture of this quilt on the edge of Lake Michigan at sunrise. It was such a beautiful sunrise and trip.

This quilt was a gift for our friends in Canada, and is living out its best life up there. I’m so happy it went to such a lovely home, because it is one of my favorites I’ve ever made.
